CLAREMONT, Calif. — Pomona-Pitzer men's swimming & diving defeated UC Santa Cruz by a score of 156-79 Friday evening at Haldeman Pool.
The Sagehens posted one pool record during the meet, in the final event of the day, the 800-yard freestyle relay. Pomona-Pitzer's A team, built of Ian Conner,
Henry Cannon,
Diego Hodge and
Kyle Huang, swam a 6:46.38 to win the event and set a new pool record. The Sagehens' 400-yard medley relay A team started the meet off with a win, racing a 3:24.56.
Allen Chang secured the win in the 1000-yard freestyle, clocking in at 10:12.51.
Adrian Clement won the 50-yard freestyle with a 20.98. Kenny Gordon then won the 200-yard IM after clocking a 1:54.74.
Kyle Huang posted a win in the 200-yard butterfly by nearly seven seconds, racing a time of 1:49.58.
Hodge won the 100-yard freestyle with a 46.53, while Clement came in just behind at 46.55.
Joe Dienstag won the 500-yard freestyle with a 4:35.23.
Preston Kwon secured the win in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:10.29.
In the diving events,
Tommy Matheis won the 1m diving with a score of 320.40. He also won the 3m diving with a score of 354.30.
