Men’s Swim & Dive Defeats Whittier, 210-48

CLAREMONT, Calif. — Pomona-Pitzer men's swimming & diving defeated Whittier 210-48 Friday afternoon at Haldeman Pool.
 
Season Impact: The team win improves the Sagehens' head-to-head record to 5-0 against SCIAC teams. 
 
The meet, originally scheduled to take place at Whittier but moved to Haldeman Pool due to air quality concerns from wildfires in the area, started with the Sagehens winning the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:34.34. Jack Christy then won the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:29.51. 
 
Diego Hodge secured the win in the 200-yard freestyle, racing a 1:44.94. Parker Ewers raced a 54.17 to win the 100-yard backstroke while Jonathan Cong won the 100-yard breaststroke with a 1:00.38. Kyle Huang won the 200-yard butterfly with a 1:51.85 before Casey Jacobs won the 50-yard freestyle with a 20.37. 
 
In the diving events, Tommy Matheis won the 3m diving with a score of 361.50. Matheis also won the 1m diving, scoring a 371.85. 
 
Ian Palmer won the 100-yard freestyle with a 48.52. Kai Parker then won the 200-yard backstroke with a 1:58.70. In the 200-yard breaststroke, Allen Chang won with a 2:12.19. Henry Cannon then secured the win in the 500-yard freestyle with a 4:55.55. Diego Hodge posted another win in the 100-yard butterfly with a 51.48. 
 
Cong won another event, racing a 1:59.90 in the 200-yard IM. Pomona-Pitzer ended the meet with another relay win, racing a 3:09.10 in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
