CLAREMONT, Calif. — Pomona-Pitzer women's swimming & diving cruised to a 221-56 win over Whittier Friday afternoon at Haldeman Pool.
Season Impact: The team win improves the Sagehens' head-to-head record to 5-0 against SCIAC teams.
The meet, originally scheduled to take place at Whittier but moved to Haldeman Pool due to air quality concerns from wildfires in the area, started with Pomona-Pitzer winning the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:48.76.
Kae Tanabe then won the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:07.05, while
Karolina Dzieciol won the 200-yard freestyle with a 1:56.54.
Emmy Luu won the 100-yard backstroke with a 59.73.
May Ling Roberts then took first in the 100-yard breaststroke, racing a 1:08.46. Mary Louisa Leopold placed first in the 200-yard butterfly with a 2:11.95. In the 50-yard freestyle,
Joy Lee won with a 24:45. Lee also won the 100-yard freestyle with a 53.00.
The Sagehens continued to dominate, with
Izzy Yoon winning the 200-yard backstroke with a 2:06.79. Dzieciol won the 200-yard backstroke with a 2:29.60.
Naomi Locala then won the 500-yard freestyle with a 5:21.85.
Taylor Park took home the win in the 100-yard butterfly with a 59.32.
Roberts secured another win in the 200-yard IM, racing a 2:13.85. Pomona-Pitzer then ended the meet with a win in the 400-yard freestyle relay, racing a time of 3:33.76.
