LOS ANGELES, Ca. – The Pomona-Pitzer men's track and field team competed at the 2024 Oxy Invitational in their first round of last chance qualifier meets for the 2024 NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships.
In the Results
In the 100m,
Chris Taylor clocked a 10.68 to take seventh with
Andres Torres running an 11.27 while
Kellen O'Rourke ran an 11.50. O'Rourke also ran the 200m, crossing the line in 23.04 seconds. In the 800m,
Bennett Booth-Genthe and
Oscar Roering both turned in sub 1:50 performances with Booth-Genthe running a 1:49.16 to take third while Roering took fifth with a time of 1:49.73. JT Bard also ran the 800, running a 1:56.93.
In the 1500m,
Peter Neid and
Ian Horsburgh both went sub 3:55 with Neid running a 3:52.95 while Horsburgh ran 3:53.61.
Evan Williams turned in a 4:16.82 to round out the Sagehens efforts in the 1500m. In the 5k,
Lucas Florsheim ran a 14:05.68, just under two seconds off his lifetime best in the event, taking fifth in the event with
Cameron Hatler running a 14:21.16 to take eighth.
Jack Stein and
Owen Kobett also ran the 5k, running 15:01.20 and 15:11.69.
The Sagehens won the 4x400m relay, running a 3:15.92 with Sam Butler,
Jake Hallesy,
Oscar Roering, and
Bennett Booth-Genthe combining for the first place finish.
Euan Kang took 12th in the long jump after hitting a 6.03m jump on his second jump of the day.
