Championship Results
The Sagehens got things started with a program record in the 4 x 100m as
Harrison Brown,
Gavin Doig,
Jake Hallesy, and
Chris Taylor combined for a 40.87 to win the SCIAC Championship title in the event. The team's time of 40.87 seconds currently stands as the ninth fastest time in the country. From there, the Sagehens moved on to the 1500m with
Bennett Booth-Genthe winning the race with a time of 3:48.32, nearly two seconds ahead of second place.
Peter Neid took fourth in the event with a time of 3:57.28. Sam Butler earned a bronze medal in the 400m, running a lifetime best time of 48.40 seconds to take third overall.
In the 100m,

Gavin Doig ran 10.81 seconds to take fourth.
Oscar Roering earned another gold medal for the Sagehens, taking first in the 800m with a 1:50.45 which is the 13th fastest time in the country. Roering's race was an exciting one in front of the home crowd as the junior trailed with 100m to go in the two lap race but made a late surge down the home stretch to out kick Ellis DelVecchio of CMS to win the gold.
Peter Neid took fifth in the event with a time of 1:55.55 to earn four points for the Sagehens. In the 400m hurdles,
Peter Gofen took fourth with a time of 54.74 seconds.
Chris Taylor and Sam Butler took fourth and seventh in the 200m with Taylor crossing in 21.70 seconds while Butler ran a 22.11 second race. Perhaps the most dominant showing from the Sagehens came in the 5k as the crew of
Lucas Florsheim,
Derek Fearon,
Cameron Hatler, and
Ian Horsburgh took first through fourth, turning in the only sub-15 minute performances in the field to earn 29 points for the team. Florsheim won the event in 14:30.04, holding off Fearon who took second in 14:30.60. Hatler crossed in 14:49.07 while Horsburgh rounded out the sweep with a time of 14:52.98.
In the discus,
Omaru Konneh took seventh overall with a throw of 38.85m.
Jack Paradis had a clean day at the high jump pit, clearing four bars overall on first attempts, finishing in second place with a 1.92m clearance. William Marquart took fifth overall in the shot put with a 13.53m throw.
The final event of the day featured a nasty fall for the Sagehens as the 4 x 400m relay got dicey halfway through the event. After clean runs from Sam Butler and
Jake Hallesy,
Oscar Roering got the baton with a lead over CMS but was clipped and pushed over just 30m into his run, causing a fall for both the leading Sagehens and CMS Stags who were trailing. Roering managed to regroup and take the baton around the track and hand it off to Booth-Genthe who closed well for the Sagehens to give the team a sixth place finish in 3:25.58.
