Box Score CLAREMONT, CA. – The No. 20 Pomona-Pitzer Men's Tennis team fell to No. 1 CMS 7-2 on Saturday night at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center.
Season Impact: with the loss, the Sagehens fall to 12-12 overall and 6-1 in SCIAC play.
The Sagehens started out winning one of the three doubles matches against the Stags as CMS took wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles and the Sagehens winning No. 3.
CMS started out doubles with a pair of 8-6 wins as
Luke Feng and
Eshaan Lumba fell at No. 1 and
Sam English and
Owen Kelley fell at the No. 2 position.
Neil Chulani and
Ethan Lee stopped the doubles sweep with a tiebreaker win at No. 3 doubles 8-7 (7-3).
The Sagehens went on to win one of the six singles matches against CMS as English earned a 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 win at No. 5 singles.
Lumba lost his match at No. 1 singles 6-1, 6-1 while Feng dropped his match at No. 3 singles, 6-4, 6-1.
Lee also dropped his singles match with a tight 7-6 (7-2) loss in set one and a 6-2 loss in set two.
The Sagehens dropped the last two matches in three sets with
Rohun Krishnan losing 6-1, 5-7, 6-2 at No. 4 singles and Chulani falling 6-3, 4-6, 10-6 to end the Sixth Street Rivalry.
