REDLANDS, Ca. – The Pomona-Pitzer men's track and field team performed well in the Friday afternoon Redlands Invitational, showing particularly well in the sprints, earning five top-10 finishes between the 100m, 200m, and 400m. The Sagehens will be back in action on March 23 when they travel to San Diego, Ca. for the Point Loma Invitational.
Meet Highlights
As mentioned, the Sagehens soared in the sprints, starting things off with a strong performance from
Gavin Doig in the 100m. Doig set a new lifetime best in the 100m, crossing the finish in 10.88 seconds, his first sub-11 performance in the event.
Harrison Brown also performed well in the event, running an 11.17 second race to take 24th with Doig taking seventh overall. In the 200m,
Jake Hallesy was the standout performer for the Sagehens, taking fourth place with a 21.68 second race while Sam Butler crossed the line in 22.12 seconds to take eighth. Butler ran a personal best in the 400m, crossing the line in 49.27 seconds to take fourth place while Hallesy ran a 49.68 to take seventh.
In the 800m,
Fox Kloske ran a 2:08.55 to take seventh. In the high jump,
Jack Paradis made a third attempt clearance at 1.90m to take sixth place.
Euan Kang took 19th in long jump after jump 6.02m before later taking eighth in triple jump with a mark of 12.82m. In the shot put, William Marquart took 12th with a 12.27m throw and later threw 31.73m in hammer to take 18th. Marquart also threw javelin on Friday, taking seventh after a 44.24m first attempt throw.
Daniel Harrell threw 36.36m in the discus to take 10th overall.
