CLAREMONT, Ca. – The Pomona-Pitzer men's track and field team showed well in the 2024 Pomona-Pitzer All Comers on Strehle Track on Saturday with
Chris Taylor headlining the Sagehens' performances with a program record in the 100m. The Sagehens will be back in action on Feb. 24 when they compete at the CMS Rossi Relays.
Meet Highlights
As mentioned, the Sagehens top performance of the day came in the 100m as
Chris Taylor stormed down the track, crossing the line in 10.54 seconds to take second overall to break his own record of 10.59 seconds set on May 18th, 2023.
Harrison Brown and
Andres Torres both ran quality 100m races as well, crossing the line in 11.23 seconds and 11.48 seconds.
Oscar Roering won the 800m with a time of 1:54.12. Pomona-Pitzer ran well in the 200m with
Jake Hallesy leading the charge with a fourth place finish with a time of 22.14 seconds with Sam Butler taking fifth in 22.39 seconds.
Gavin Doig also ran a strong race, crossing the line in 22.45 seconds to take seventh. The Sagehens were dominant in the mile, taking first through sixth with
Bennett Booth-Genthe taking first with a time of 4:07.74 with
Colin Kirkpatrick and
Lucas Florsheim taking second and third in 4:09.83 and 4:11.40. In the long jump,
Ryaan Amanat took 13th with a mark of 5.98m while
Erubey Lopez jumped 5.75m to take 15th. Lopez later took 7th in the triple jump with a mark of 12.32m.
Ryan Aubrey threw 11.14m in the shot put to take 15th place. In the high jump,
Jack Paradis cleared three bars, finishing on a solo attempt clearance at 1.85m to take third overall.
