LOS ANGELES, Ca. – The Pomona-Pitzer men's track and field team opened the 2024 season with a 68-46 victory over Occidental College on Saturday afternoon. The Sagehens will return to Claremont to host the PP Collegiate All-Comers on Feb. 17 starting at 10:30 a.m.
Meet Highlights
The Sagehens 4 x 800m relay team of
Frederick Ambrose,
Alex Maxwell,
Quinn White, and
Joseph Cox combined for a time of 8:12.98 to win the event. Pomona-Pitzer's 4 x 100m relay team turned in the second best performance in program history as
Harrison Brown,
Gavin Doig,
Jake Hallesy, and
Chris Taylor combined for a time of 42.01 seconds.
Jalen DeLoney took second in the 300m hurdles with a time of 43.92 seconds. In the 400m dash,
Oscar Roering took first with a time of 50.70 seconds. In the 100m,
Daniel Coker took fourth with a time of 11.66 with
Andres Torres taking fifth in 11.77 seconds. In the 4 x 1600m relay,
Frederick Ambrose,
Dash Lipsey,
Joseph Cox, and
Alex Maxwell took second with a time of 18:30.67. In the 4 x 400 mixed relay, Sara Colando, Michaela Jones,
Emil Adams, and
Gavin Doig took first with a time of 3:49.49. Omaru Konneh took first in the hammer with a mark of 23.94m while
Elshiekh Ahmed took second in the javelin with a 34.35m throw.
Euan Kang won the long jump with a 6.02m jump with
Ryaan Amanat taking second after a 5.98m jump. Kang also won the triple jump, jumping 12.89m with
Erubey Lopez taking second with a 12.36m jump.
Daniel Harrell won the discus with a 36.87m throw with
Ryan Aubrey taking second with a 32.27 throw. In the high jump,
Jack Paradis took first after clearing 1.84m.
Ryan Aubrey won the shot put with a 11.22m throw with Omaru Konneh taking second with a 11.15m mark.
