CLAREMONT, Calif. — The Pomona-Pitzer men's swimming & diving team defeated Claremont-Mudd-Scripps by a score of 186.5 to 166.5 Saturday at the conclusion of the two-day meet.
The Sagehens opened the meet with a victory and pool record in the 400-yard medley relay, swimming to a time of 3:16.84. The team was composed of
Diego Hodge,
Preston Kwon,
Kyle Huang and
Casey Jacobs and won the event by over five seconds.
Kyle Huang then won the 200-yard IM with a pool-record time of 1:49.98. He also won the 400-yard IM with a time of 3:58.37.
Casey Jacobs also set a pool record in the 50-yard freestyle, racing a time of 20.05.
Henry Cannon took first in the 200-yard freestyle with a 1:40.50, while Kwon won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 56.33.
Huang set another pool record in the 100-yard butterfly, racing to a time of 48.42.
Diego Hodge posted a pool record of his own in the 200-yard backstroke after clocking in at 1:47.46. Jacobs set another pool record in the 100-yard freestyle after posting a time of 44.75. Huang set yet another pool record in the 200-yard butterfly, racing a 1:47.03.
The Sagehens ended the swimming events with another pool record in the 400-yard freestyle relay. Cannon, Ian Conner, Huang and Jacobs raced a 3:01.19 to win the event.
Tommy Matheis posted Pomona-Pitzer's lone win in the diving events. He won the 1m diving with a score of 320.55.
The Sagehens return to action on Friday, Jan. 10, when they face Whittier on the road.
