CLAREMONT, CA. — Tommy Matheis set a school record in the 3m dive Saturday to highlight Pomona-Pitzer men's swimming & diving's win over Cal Lutheran. The Sagehens finished with 209 points to the Kingsmen's 71.
Matheis earned a school-record score of 391.28 in the 3m dive, winning the event. Teammate
Liam Hochman finished in second with a score of 293.48. Matheis also won the 1m dive after posting a score of 375.98.
The Sagehens opened the swim events with a 200y medley relay win, as Pomona-Pitzer's "B" team finished with a time of 1:36.43.
Henry Cannon then secured the Sagehens' first individual swim event win in the 200y freestyle, clocking in at 1:44.03.
Diego Hodge won the 100y backstroke with a 51.97, while
Allen Chang finished first in the 200y butterfly with a 1:57.30.
Eric Liu raced a 21.76 to win the 50y freestyle and
Casey Jacobs won the 100y freestyle with a 46.23.
Ian Connor won the 200y backstroke after posting a 1:58.73.
Nathan Levy secured another individual event win for Pomona-Pitzer, racing a 2:10.78 in the 200y breaststroke. Hodge posted another win in the 500y freestyle, coming in at 4:52.07. Jacobs also won his second event of the day with a 52.23 in the 100y butterfly.
Jack Christy won the 400y IM with a time of 4:13.99. The Sagehens ended the meet with a win in the 200y freestyle relay after racing a 1:25.79.
Pomona-Pitzer will next compete at the D3 Shootout hosted by the University of Chicago next weekend, Nov. 8-9.
