Sagehens Earn Sixth Straight NCAA West Region Crown

RIVERSIDE, Ca. – For the sixth year in a row, the Pomona-Pitzer men's cross country team ran their way to the West Region Championship Crown. The Sagehens recorded 45 points on Saturday morning to earn their sixth-straight Regional Title, earning five All-Region finishes with the top-five runners all finishing inside the top-20. The Sagehens finished 48 points of CMS who ended the day in second place with 93 points while George Fox and Colorado College took third and fourth with 104 and 121 points, respectively. With the victory, the Sagehens earned automatic bid to the 2023 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championship next Saturday in Newville, PA. 
 
In The Results
The Sagehens featured a strong pack on the Riverside Cross Country Course with Lucas Florsheim leading the charge as the senior finished as the runner-up with a time of 24:37.4. Derek Fearon finished shortly behind Florsheim, taking fourth place overall after crossing the line in 24:44.7. Cameron Hatler was the next Sagehen to cross the line, taking 11th with a time of 25:02.7. Jack Stein earned a 13th place finish with a 25:03.6 with Colin Kirkpatrick rounding out the top-five in 18th overall with a time of 25:06.3. 
 
Owen Kobett and Ian Horsburgh rounded out the top-seven with the duo taking 40th and 67th, crossing the finish line in 25:49.0 and 26:32.5, respectively.
