Claremont, Calif. - Pomona-Pitzer's women's medley relay team and frosh sensation Angela Ling set Haldeman Pool records during Saturday's non-conference dual-meet victory over Concordia University-Irvine Saturday afternoon. Pomona-Pitzer defeated CUI, 149-72.
Pomona-Pitzer's 400 Medley Relay of Angela Ling, Mackenzie Cummings, Sarah Jin and Madison Kauahi clocked a pool-record 4:00.84 to lead off the meet, and then Ling (pictured) returned to win the 200 back in 2:07.52 to cap a successful afternoon.
Other Sagehen winners against Concordia included Vee Vanderpoel in the 200 free (1:58.81), Cayla Nishizaki in the 50 free (25.39) and 100 free (53.96), Sarah Jin in the 200 IM (2:14.98), Dawn Barlow in 1-meter diving (208.75 pts), and the 400 free relay team of Vanderpoel, Ling, Mariah Bowman, and Kauahi.
Pomona-Pitzer hosts Cal Baptist at home Saturday at 2pm in another non-conference dual meet, and then returns to SCIAC competition Saturday, Nov. 21 at home by hosting Cal Lutheran and La Verne in Haldeman Pool, starting at 11am.
