Women's Tennis: Four Hens Listed On All-SCIAC

LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA. – The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference named four members of the Pomona-Pitzer Women's Tennis Team to the All-SCIAC Team on Friday, as Maryann Zhao and Caroline Casper took home First Team All-SCIAC Honors while Summer Garrison and Shivani Doraiswami were named to the Second Team.

Zhao went 14-5 in singles play this season and 4-1 in SCIAC singles matches. She also went 7-1 in doubles alongside Arianna Chen. She reached the quarterfinals of the ITA West Regional Fall Championship and has helped the Hens to a runner-up finish in the SCIAC Regular Season. She was also named SCIAC Athlete of the Week twice this season.

Caroline Casper has been a solid no. 1 and 2 singles player for the Sagehens this season, overcoming a rough March and work her way back to a winning 10-9 record in singles. Casper's best performance came against University of Chicago when she took down then-No.14 Marjorie Antohi with a pair of 6-1 sets. She also won against Anjali Kashyap of Johns Hopkins University 6-3 and 6-2.

Summer Garrison finished the regular season ranked No. 10 in the West Region and compiled a 9-4 record in singles. She went 4-1 in SCIAC play, having come off dominating 6-0 and 6-2 set wins over Lexi Lehman of University of Redlands.

Doraiswami went 13-7 in singles in her senior season, closing out the regular season with a four-match winning streak. She also went 4-1 in SCIAC play and had a big 6-3 and 6-2 victory over then-No. 32 Catherine Owen of Sewanee University.
