Women's Tennis: Hens Cruise Past Redlands in SCIAC Semi 5-0

CLAREMONT, CA. – The No. 7 Pomona-Pitzer Women's Tennis Team came out of the SCIAC Semifinal unscathed, taking down University of Redlands 5-0. After sweeping through doubles, Summer Garrison and Arianna Chen won their singles matches to clinch the victory.

"I was really happy with the team executed our plan today," said Head Coach Mike Morgan. "They took a lot of chances and risks and it paid off. We hope to do that again tomorrow. Claremont [Mudd-Scripps] has a really good team, but so do we. Right now our team believes in themselves."

Over in doubles, Caroline Casper and Emily Chen won no. 2 doubles with little trouble, taking down Kate Dolan and Jackie Lacy 8-1. Shivani Doraiswami and Jay Kim won no. 3 doubles over Lexi Lehman and Karen Kobayashi 8-3, and Maryann Zhao and Arianna Chen followed with an 8-2 win in no. 1 doubles over Elizabeth Johnson and Sarah Ikoka.

Garrison had little trouble in no. 3 singles, taking down Lehman 6-1 and 6-0. Arianna Chen scored a pair of 6-0 shutout sets to win no. 6 singles over Kate Dolan.
