Casper, the No. 3 seed in the tournament, opened the NCAA Postseason with a rematch against the University of Chicago's Ariana Iranpour. The pair first met earlier this season in the ITA Indoor Semifinals where Casper scored a 6-3, 6-2 win. This time around, Casper opened the match with a 6-2 win in the first set and then fell 6-2 in the second. But the sophomore from Santa Cruz, CA rallied in the third set with a 6-1 win to claim the match.

In her second match of the day, Casper had another rematch, this time against Johns Hopkins' Ashnaa Rao who she beat 6-1, 6-1 in the ITA Indoor Opener. The second meeting proved to be little different with Casper dominating on the way to a 6-2, 6-2 win.

Chen and Zhao battled in their opening doubles match. The pair faced off against Katherine Hughes and Skylar Schossberger of Middlebury, and dropped the first set 6-4. But the Sagehens rallied in the second with a dominant 6-2 win, and the duo rode the momentum in the third to a 6-3 win in the final set.

In singles play, Zhao opened the NCAA Tournament with a commanding win in the round of 32 over Cori Sidell from Carnegie Mellon to earn All-American honors. After losing to Sidell earlier this season in three sets, Zhao rolled past her in their second meeting for a 6-2, 6-1 win.

Zhao had a tough second match, facing off against No. 1 seed Eudice Chong from Wesleyan (CT). Zhao fell in two sets 6-3, 6-3.

"I could not be more proud of the quality of tennis and heart displayed by all three girls today," said Cohn. "Some unbelievably good tennis played against the best players in the country."

Casper advances to the quarterfinals where she will face Victoria Yu from Wesleyan (CT) tomorrow at 9 a.m.

In the doubles bracket, Zhao and Chen will play the No. 3 seeded team of Bridget Harding and Katarina Su from Emory in the quarterfinals at 12 p.m.
