Women's Tennis: Sagehens End Ojai With Two Semifinal Appearances

OJAI, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Tennis team sent a few individuals to the annual Ojai Tournament on April 27th- 30th at the Ojai Valley Tennis Club.

The Sagehens were led by Caroline Casper who made it through the Singles Tournament before she fell in the Semifinals to Whitney Williams by the score of 6-7 (5), 6-4, 6-4.

Pomona-Pitzer had two more players make it to the Quarterfinals as Mae Coyiuto fell to Erin Walker 6-2, 6-2 and Arianna Chen also fell in the Quarterfinals to Lucile Pothier 6-0, 6-2.

On the doubles side, the Sagehens had two teams make it to the Semifinals in the team of Casper and Arianna Chen and the team of Emily Chen and Joy Kim.

Casper and Arianna Chen fell to the team Adams and Walker while Emily Chen and Joy Kim fell to the team of Pothier and Williams who went on to win the Ojai Doubles Championship.

The Sagehens had one other doubles team make it to the Quarterfinals match as Coyiuto and Lucy Jiange fell to Pothier and Williams 6-0, 6-1.

The Sagehens will next compete in the SCIAC Championships hosted by the University of Redlands with first round action beginning on Friday, May 5th
