Women's Swim & Dive: Pomona-Pitzer Clinches Tri-Meet Victory at Whittier

WHITTIER, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Swim & Dive team came away with a solid victory at a SCIAC Tri-Meet against Whittier College and Occidental College on Saturday morning. The Sagehens took first place in nine events, outscoring the Poets 172-73 and the Tigers 159-95.

Anna Newman impressed in the long distance, winning the 1000 Yard Freestyle with a time of 10:56.97. In the 200 Freestyle, Hannah Zurmuhl won with a time of 2:00.36 while Maddie Kauahi followed right behind her at 2:00.45.

Over in the 100 Breaststroke, Alex Werner took the top spot at 1:07.85 and later won again in the 200 Breaststroke at 2:25.72. Maddie Kauahi won the 100 Freestyle at 54.36 and Sarah Jin took first in the 200 Backstroke at 2:12.86. Alex Gill continues her impressive debut season with a first place finish in the 100 Butterfly at 59.65 and Lavinya Yap won the 200 Individual Medley at 2:18.87.

In the final event of the afternoon, Kate Eisenbraun, Alex Gill, Angela Ling, and Maddie Kauahi combined for a first-place victory in the 200 Freestyle Relay at 1:42.55.

Up Next: The Sagehens will return home on Saturday, November 17 as they host University of Redlands for a dual meet at 10:30 a.m.
