CLAREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Swimming and Diving program released the new 2018-19 schedule, competing in 11 regular season meets with five at home. After a historically successful 2017-18 season in which the men's and women's team won the SCIAC Championship in the same year for the first time in program history, the Sagehens look forward to exceeding expectations one meet at a time.
The season opens up with a road meet against Cal Baptist University on Friday, October 26 at 3:00 p.m. The Sagehens return home the next day to host a dual meet against Concordia University, Irvine in Haldeman Pool at 11:00 a.m. They start November on the road to face Fresno State and Fresno Pacific on Saturday, November 3 at 12:00 p.m.
Pomona-Pitzer will begin swimming against SCIAC schools on Saturday, November 10 when they head to Whittier to compete against Whittier College and Occidental College at 10:30 a.m. The Sagehens will head back home to host University of Redlands on Saturday, November 17 at 10:30 a.m. On November 30 and December 1, the Sagehens will head across the street to face their rival Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
On December 14 and 15, the Sagehens will travel to Riverside to swim at the Lancer Invitational hosted by Cal Baptist. After the New Year's holiday, Pomona-Pitzer will host Cal Lutheran on Saturday, January 12 at 10:30 a.m. and then head to Orange to face Chapman and La Verne on Saturday, January 19 at 10:30 a.m. To close out the regular season, the Sagehens will host Caltech on Saturday, February 2 at 10:30 a.m. followed by the Pomona-Pitzer Invite on Saturday, February 9 at 10:30 a.m.
The SCIAC Championships will be held in Commerce, California and will go from February 21st to 24th with preliminaries starting at 9:00 a.m. and the finals at 5:00 p.m. If the Sagehens' divers qualify for the nationals, they will compete in the NCAA Diving Regionals on March 1st and 2nd. Swimmers and divers who break the NCAA B Cut times will compete in the NCAA Championships held in Greensboro, North Carolina which will go from March 20th to 23rd with prelims starting at 7:00 a.m. PST and finals at 3:00 p.m. PST.
