Women's Soccer: Sagehens Draw With Poets On The Road

CLAREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Soccer team drew with Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) opponent Whittier College 0-0 on Saturday night at Memorial Stadium.

Season Impact: with the draw, the Sagehens move to 6-1-1 overall and 3-1-1 in SCIAC play.

 Junior Isa Berardo got the start for the Sagehens in goal and recorded their third-straight shutout with one save on the night.

The Sagehens failed to convert a goal in their game against Whittier but not for a lack of effort as they took 28 shots with 13 on goal.

The Poets were able to play prevent defense against the Sagehens with a bend but don't break attitude. Pomona-Pitzer outshot Whittier 28-5 with the Poets only landing one shot on goal.

Vanessa Martinez recorded 13 saves for the Poets as Whittier was able to hold off the Sagehens and hung on for the tie at home.
