Women's Lacrosse Takes On Occidental In SCIAC Semifinal

The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Lacrosse team earned a berth into the 2018 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships beginning with the Semifinals on Saturday, April 28th.

The Sagehens earned the No. 3 seed in the SCIAC Championships with a 10-7 overall record and 5-5 in conference play and will travel to No. 2 seed Occidental on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

Pomona-Pitzer fell in both competitions against Occidental this season with a tough 14-13 loss at home and fell on the road to the Tigers 16-11.

The Sagehens are led this season by Lilly Thomey who tallied a team-high 60 points this season and also leads the Sagehens with 51 goals. Sophie Hubbell leads the team in assists with 23 and Annie Price leads the Sagehens in goal with 165 saves this season.

Occidental comes into the postseason with a 12-5 overall record and 8-2 in SCIAC play. The Tigers are led by Sierra Slack who tallied a team-high 89 points with 59 goals and 30 assists. Ciara Bryne leads the team with 73 assists and Neah Bois leads the Tigers in goal with 100 saves this season.

The winner of this Semifinal will go on to face the winner of No. 4 Chapman vs No. 1 CMS.
