CLAREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Lacrosse team fell 14-13 in a tight matchup with Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) opponent Occidental on Wednesday night at the South Athletics Complex.

The Sagehens were led by Lilly Thomey who tallied a team-high four goals in the loss. Kate Immergluck tallied her first hat-trick of her career with three goals and Sonia Olson notched a hat-trick as well, her fifth of the season.

A tale of two halves for the Sagehens' offense against the Tigers as they netted nine goals in the first half and just four in the second. Pomona-Pitzer opened up the game with back-to-back goals on free position shots by Immergluck and Emma Sheridan to take a 2-0 lead.

The Sagehens struggled to keep possession early in the second half that resulted in Occidental opening up the second half with three-straight goals to tie the game at 9-9.

Pomona-Pitzer regrouped and responded as Thomey scored the next three goals for the Sagehens but the Tigers came back with three goals in a row to take their first lead of the night at 13-12 with 7:45 left to go. Immergluck tied the game off of a free position shot but the Tigers scored the go-ahead goal after they were down a player with 2:30 left to play.
