Redlands Remains Unbeaten With 18-9 Win Over Pomona-Pitzer

Redlands, Calif. - Amiee Dewan (four goals) scored the first two goals of the game to send the Redlands Women's Lacrosse team on its way to an 18-9 win over a shorthanded Pomona-Pitzer team on Wednesday evening.

Pomona-Pitzer, which played without any available substitutes due to several injuries, and used reserve goalie Dana Christensen in the field for the full 60 minutes, falls to 1-2 overall on the year, while Redlands improves to a perfect 3-0 with the win.

The Sagehens were led by sophomore midfielder Logan Galansky (pictured), who had four goals, including the first three goals for Pomona-Pitzer. She had both of her team's goals in the first half as Redlands took a 7-2 lead into the break.

Dewan scored the first goal of the second half for Redlands, and Galansky answered back for the Sagehens, but the Bulldogs scored the next two goals to end any comeback hopes for Pomona-Pitzer.

Redlands held Sagehen senior Martha Marich to only two goals after she had 11 in her last game, a 26-18 win over Whittier on Saturday. Claire Bartlett, Julie Necarsulmer and Jana London each had one goal for Pomona-Pitzer.

Sophomore goalie Casey Leek had eight saves in the first half to keep the Sagehens close for a while, but the Bulldogs were able to wear Pomona-Pitzer down in the second half to pull away for the 18-9 win. Crystal Painter had three goals and four other players had two for Redlands, which held a 34-18 edge in shots.

Pomona-Pitzer will be back in action on Saturday when it hosts Occidental for a 1 p.m. contest at Merritt Field.
