About the Program

The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Basketball team has a strong history of success, starting with the program’s first win in 1903 versus Occidental College by a score of 19-15.

After becoming an official varsity program in 1976, the Sagehens have gone on to win 16 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) championships from 1977-2002, picking up their latest title during the 2002 season.  The team has participated in the NCAA tournament six times, with a high finish of third place in the 1981-82 campaign.

The women’s basketball program has also produced four NCAA Division All-Americans and three top NCAA Academic Teams during its illustrious history.

The team plays its home games in the beautiful confines of the Rains Center, which is one of the finest facilities in Division III athletics.
