CMS Pulls Away From Sagehens

Claremont, Calif. - Kimberly Scamman had 17 points and 11 rebounds to lead the CMS Women's Basketball team to a 71-41 win over Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday evening at Voelkel Gymnasium. 

The win was the 11th in a row for CMS, which improves to 15-3 overall and 9-0 in the SCIAC. The Sagehens slip to 2-14 overall and 1-6 in conference play. 

Sophomore forward Basha Brulee-Wills led Pomona-Pitzer with 14 points, while junior forward Amelia Hummel (pictured) pulled down a team-high eight rebounds.

Kris Brackmann was also in double figures with 14 points for CMS, which broke open a 28-20 halftime game with a 7-0 run to start the second half, and was never threatened again. The Athenas finished with a 52-33 edge on the boards and held Pomona-Pitzer to just 20.7 percent shooting.

The Sagehens will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Caltech for a 7:30 p.m. contest.
