CLAREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Cross Country Team paced their way to a first place finish at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational at Strehle Track on Saturday morning, seeing five runners finish within the top-15. The Sagehens scored 49 points at the meet, finishing ahead of NAIA program Westmont who scored 61 and SCIAC rival Redlands who scored 93. Danny Rosen led the Sagehens with a fifth-place finish in the 8K course at 26:03.0 while Carter Floyd took eighth at 26:17.5. Benjamin White of Whittier College took first overall at the meet with a time of 25:23.0.
"I was particularly pleased with our pack running today," said Head Coach Jordan Carpenter. "This is something we have really have been putting an emphasis on this year and I thought we did a good job of finding our teammates early and running together. It showed in the final results as well, as we put seven runners in the top-17 with a total spread of only 33 seconds."
In 10th place, Carter Stripp clocked in at 26:24.1 and Daniel Hill took 12th at 26:28.7. Edmund Havener finished in 14th at 26:35.7 and Joe Hesse-Withbroe crossed in 16th at 26:43.1. Coming in 17th, Owen Keiser timed at 26:45.1.
