Seven Hens Score in 11-5 Water Polo Romp over La Verne

La Verne, Calif. - Seven different Pomona-Pitzer players scored Saturday as the Sagehen men's water polo team downed La Verne, 11-5, Saturday at Las Flores Pool in La Verne. 

With the win, Pomona-Pitzer climbs to 11-13 overall and 3-3 in SCIAC, while La Verne falls to 6-16 and 2-4.

Pomona-Pitzer and La Verne were tied, 2-2, after the first quarter, but the Sagehens outscored the Leopards, 5-2, in the second to lead, 7-3, at halftime and never looked back. The score after three was 11-5 in favor of Pomona-Pitzer.

Three Sagehens tallied two goals: Adam Ward, Neil Forsythe, and James Baker (pictured), while Max Ries, Timmy Hardman, Nic Lanker, Tommy Turner, and Phillip Clayman each added one. 

Daniel Diemer had eight saves in goal. 

Pomona-Pitzer hosts cross-campus rival and 7-0 SCIAC leader Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Wednesday in a 7:00pm evening game in Haldeman Pool.
