Redlands Pulls Away From Sagehens

Redlands, Calif. - The Redlands Men's Water Polo team scored six unanswered goals in the second half to pull away for a 14-9 win over Pomona-Pitzer on Wednesday evening.

With the loss, the Sagehens fall to 8-21 overall and 4-3 in the SCIAC. Redlands improves to 17-13 and 6-2 in the SCIAC, clinching the No. 3 seed in next weekend's conference tournament.

Nine different players had one goal apiece for Pomona-Pitzer: Kyle Vanderlinde (pictured), Austin Strong, Stephen Vint, Jarrod Gaut, Dylan O'Connell, James Baker, Clayton Hardman, Robert Chew and Phillip Clayman. Tyler Hill had six first-half saves in goal for the Sagehens as well.

Pomona-Pitzer concludes the regular season with a road match at La Verne at 11 a.m. on Saturday. A win there would give the Sagehens the No. 4 seed in the conference tournament and allow them to still be in control of their own destiny for a SCIAC title and the right to represent the league in an NCAA Play-In Game.
