COMMERCE, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Swimming & Diving Program got off to an ideal start after the first day of the SCIAC Championship, winning the two relays to start their postseason run. They currently lead the conference with 128 meet points.
In the 200 Yard Medley Relay, the A-Final team comprised of Nikhil Kundu, Lukas Ming Menkhoff, Ryan Drover, and Nick Borowsky took first place with a time of 1:29.94. It was the ninth-best time in the nation. In the B-Final team also took first as Erik Garcia, Nick Lewis, Greg Havton, and Nathan Hahn combined for a time of 1:32.83.
Over at the 800 Freestyle Relay, the Sagehens clinched first in the A-Final as Will Abele, Liam O'Shea, Jack Swanson, and Zachary Senator combined for first at 6:43.54. Abele's lap time of 1:39.76 qualified as an NCAA B Cut.
Up Next: The Sagehens will compete again tomorrow in day 2 of the SCIAC Championship. The preliminaries will begin at 9:00 a.m. and the finals start at 5:00 p.m.
