Men's Soccer: Sagehens Dealt Tough Road Loss To Tigers

EAGLE ROCK, CA. – Wednesday night's match against Occidental College did not end well for the Pomona-Pitzer Men's Soccer Team as the Sagehens took a tough 4-0 loss to the Tigers. The Tigers' midfielders did a solid job at dictating the pace of play, moving the ball efficiently and positioning themselves and their teammates in the perfect position to score. Bryan Diangson did his best to fend off the Tigers' attack, collective two saves, while Taylor Reifert, Eamon Stein, and Aidan Ferrer each had a shot on goal.

Season Impact: The Sagehens are now 4-8 overall and 3-5 in the SCIAC.

In the 10th minute, Stein looked to have an open window to score, but his attempt was blocked by Tigers' defender David Paine and went out for a corner. Later in the 14th minute, the Tigers found the net when Miles Robertson found Liam Walsh to make it 1-0. Seven minutes later, the Tigers doubled off a goal by Nate Dunning. The Sagehens looked for an open opportunity in the 42nd minute to cut the lead in half off a counterattack, but they were whistled offsides. The Tigers then made it 3-0 after Marcus Blumenfeld scored off no assist.

The Tigers scored early in the second half as Ethan Glass scored with a roller off a deflected shot from his teammate Paine to make it 4-0. In the 68th minute, the Sagehens almost broke the shutout when Evan Von Oehsen saw an open opportunity, but his attempt was saved. The Tigers never looked back as they held on for the victory.
