Redlands Deals Sagehens First Conference Loss

Redlands, Calif. - The Redlands Men's Soccer team tied the game in the 70th minute and then won in overtime as it dealt Pomona-Pitzer its first conference loss with a 2-1 win on Saturday afternoon.

The loss drops the Sagehens to 6-2-1 on the year and 4-1-1 in the SCIAC, while Redlands moves to 4-2 in the league (5-5 overall).

Sophomore Voja Maric (pictured) gave Pomona-Pitzer a 1-0 lead midway through the first half with an unassisted tally to make the score 1-0 in the 25th minute. However, Patrick Roraff scored off a pass from Chase Bone with 20:27 left in regulation to even the score and send the game into extra time.

The two players then reversed places on the game-winner with 1:40 left in the first extra session, as Boone scored off a Roraff pass.

Redlands finished with a 19-14 edge in shots and a 7-2 edge in corner kicks. Nigel Brady had three saves for the Sagehens.

Pomona-Pitzer is back in action on Monday when it hosts Chapman for a 4 p.m. contest.
