Men's Basketball: Rosenbaum's Season-High 26 Leads Sagehens Past Kingsmen

THOUSAND OAKS, CA. – Daniel Rosenbaum notched a career-high 26 points as the Sagehens came out with a big road win over Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) opponent Cal Lutheran 93-62 on Saturday afternoon at Gilbert Arena.

Season Impact: With the win, the Sagehens bounce back from their loss against CMS and improve to 11-11 overall and 9-4 in SCIAC play as they sweep the Kingsmen on the season.

The Sagehens were led by Rosenbaum with his season-high double-double of 26 points and 10 rebounds in the win. Micah Elan contributed on the offense with a double-double as well as he notched 22 points and dished out 11 assists and almost notched a triple-double but was two rebounds away as he finished with eight. James Kelbert also found himself in double digits with 14 points off of the bench.

After only scoring 60 points in their loss at Robert Pavilion, the Sagehens' offense came out with a mission to score tonight as they ended with one of their most productive games of the season. Pomona-Pitzer shot over 50% from the field (50.8%) and nearly 50% from three-point territory as they converted on 45% of their shots from beyond the arc.

The Sagehens shut down Cal Lutheran early in the first half as they jumped out to a 15-2 lead capped off by a Rosenbaum three with 13:37 left in the first. After taking the early lead, the Sagehens didn't let up as they extended their lead to 29-12 midway through the first half and ended the first half way up with a 54-30 lead behind Rosenbaum's 17 points and eight rebounds in the first half and Elan's 11 points and six assists.

The offense just kept coming for the Sagehens in the second half. Pomona-Pitzer kept building its lead throughout the half and extended it to 30 points at 69-39 after a Jack Boyle jumper and took their largest lead of the night at 34 points after a Rosenbaum layup with 7:15 left to go in the game.

The Sagehens closed out their season series against the Kingsmen outscoring them by a combined 65 points after they defeated Cal Lutheran 91-55 earlier in the season at home.
