The Sagehens were led by Adam Hinthorne who had the only two-hit performance of the day going 2-4 with an RBI. Brian Knapp and Cade Hulse each had a home run in the game with a solo shot from Knapp and a two-run homer for Hulse.

With a spot in the SCIAC Postseason on the line the Sagehens came out and took game one of a very important three-game series against the Tigers.
Occidental jumped out in front to start the game as they homered in the bottom of the first to take a 1-0 lead. The Sagehens erased their deficit in the top of the third with one swing of the bat as Knapp blasted a solo shot to tie the game at 1-1. The Sagehens went on to take the lead later in the inning as Jeremiah Quezada singled home Nolan McCafferty to take a 2-1 lead.
The Tigers responded with a run in the bottom half of the third after an RBI single to tie the game once again at 2-2, but Pomona-Pitzer would come back and reclaim the lead in the fourth after Hinthorne singled to right field to bring in Bryce Rogan to take a 3-2 lead.
Yoshihara settled in on the mound and put together five-straight scoreless frames to keep the Sagehens on top. Hulse helped out the cause in the top of the sixth as his two-run shot gave the Sagehens their largest lead of the day at 5-2.
Super came on to relieve Yoshihara in the ninth and went one, two, three as the Sagehens took game one on the road over Occidental.
